A Time for All Things

There Was a Time by Nova Scotia-born composer Cy Giacomin uses the memorable text from Ecclesiastes 3 that somehow sums up the “interesting times” during which this music was written. Times of economic insecurity, spiritual longing, terrorism, and natural disasters have intertwined with incredible advances in technology and medicine, peace in most of the world, an awakening in environmental awareness, and imagined connectedness through social media. Through all the interesting times – past, present, future – music sustains us.
