Tour de France

2015 ECMA Nominee (Classical Recording of the Year)
Founded in 2006, Trio Arkaède unites three friends and exceptional musicians who complement each other musically as well as in personality.  Flutist Karin Aurell, violinist Isabelle Fournier and pianist Julien LeBlanc are all active soloists and chamber musicians.  With a passion for chamber music, the group offers eclectic programming that brings lesser-known works to the forefront.  Few composers beyond the Baroque period have written trios for flute, violin and piano.  This recording is a collection of French music from the first part of the 20th century that includes some rarely heard gems, as well as important sonatas by Debussy and Poulenc.  Two of the works pair the flute and piano with the warm sonority of the viola.
